#Coldfusion, #CFWheels, #PHP... and the "herd mentality".

After a year or more since I first laid my eyes on ColdFusion I am having some more thoughts that I would like to share with everyone regarding ColdFusion, its markup / scripting language (CFML) and now also Frameworks (Wheels specifically). I may already have written a post similar to this one, but I think it's always good to reevaluate some statements made in the past to see to where we came since then. Very good progress with my form application in CF on Wheels. Saving data to multiple database tables was never easier!

Recently I started to focus on ColdFusion on Wheels Framework and to be honest I am really starting to enjoy it so much that I just can't get off my computer even when soccer is on TV! Ideas about saving form-data into multiple tables & keeping functions like the errorMessagesFor() helper and validation functions in Wheels

I had a rough night while trying to make an alternative validation system that would suit my needs of saving data from different forms into multiple database tables. When waking up I saw Cris Peters' email and some helpful notes in the CF On Wheels Google group. Here is the main part of our latest discussion. Since I've been neglecting ColdFusion and this blog for almost a year now (I wish I had a choice... have been too busy with other stuff), I guess it's finally time for one more post. Why can terms about frameworks be so confusing

My first CF Framework is installed - ColdFusion on Wheels! Just to try one. I Finally I took some time to do that even if it was 4 in morning and I was struggling to keep my eyes open! That must definitely show you, how big my enthusiasm is, or how crazy I am. :)But it was worth it and the installation took me very little time (a few minutes) - it is that easy. Why do I like ColdFusion?

Wise people are telling me that instead of writing so much it would be better off if I would spend my time in learning ColdFusion practically. I do agree, that's definitely a good point. However I still feel that I should speak up. I have this strong feeling that this blog will one day find its purpose, despite a lot cynicism and criticism against ColdFusion among Slovenian developers. I am sure that all my efforts in discovering CFML and sharing everything in this blog will one day be proven to be a good investment...
